Do they want to ban condensed water (fog) or something imaginary that does not exist?
Yes.
“Chemtrails” is what conspiracy theorists call “contrails”.
Contrails is a portmanteau of “condensation trail”. They don’t under stand physics and believe that the airlines and everyone else are literally spraying chemicals into the air for some nefarious (usually govermental) purpose (usually to mind control people)
They’re stupid.
For people wondering, contrail is caused by moisture in the jet engine exhaust cooling and becoming a cloud,

Water is a greenhouse gas.
I’m not sure what you’re showing here. A comparison? The sheer number of planes at one time?
Yeah. There’s a constant flow of planes. There’s a documentary I saw that talked about the weather after 9/11. Cloud cover and temp changed drastically during the few days when there were no flights.
If you don’t have a source then you’re about as scientific as a TN politician (apparently)
Just fucking Google it paramecium brain.
We really ought to look at ways of removing water from the atmosphere!
You missed the point. Contrails add cloud cover. That has an effect. That is all.
Well your point did seem quite misleading, so I’m not sure if missing it is a good thing or bad thing.
Does the proposed law or the legislators supporting it use the word ‘chemtrails’?
Because
the intentional injection, release, or dispersion, by any means, of chemicals […] into the atmosphere with the express purpose of affecting temperature, weather, or the intensity of the sunlight
is a real thing. The conspiracy theory that it’s a widespread program that commercial airlines are involved in is, however, not true.
From the article:
According to language in the Senate bill, there is “documentation” that “the federal government or other entities acting on the federal government’s behalf or at the federal government’s request may conduct geoengineering experiments by intentionally dispersing chemicals into the atmosphere, and those activities may occur within the State of Tennessee.”
While the word “chemtrail” isn’t there, the idea that the federal government is doing “geoengineering experiments” is basically the core belief of the conspiracy theory.
‘may’ is carrying a lot of weight there, and frankly if the government isn’t testing geoengineering technologies, they should probably fucking start, they’re going to need to.
Most chemtrail conspiracies I hear are more in the mind control and/or turning people gay vein of crazy
Yikes. Injecting sulfur dioxide into the air is actually a proposed way to temporarily reduce climate change by increasing Earth’s albedo. I guess Tennessee wants to stay hot.
I guess Tennessee wants to stay hot.
They mostly don’t believe in global warming.
This law is stupid, but when Republicans pass stupid laws against real things, pretending that they’re passing laws against false conspiracies doesn’t help.
Felt like a knee jerk response to climate change research to me.
That’s clearly what it is
The problem is that once we start, we are in that forever. It’s best not to have to do this.
I concur, this should have been reported for what it is. It is essentially a local ordinance against geoengineering.
Yes, what about it?
Lol. Let them. There is no such thing as a chem trail
They might as well ban unicorns or Bigfoot
Old Man Yells at Ice Crystals. They’re going to get big mad when they pass the law, and it doesn’t change water freezing when it comes into contact with cold air.
It’s scary that we let these people hold positions in our government…
