I smell money laundering, so much money laundering. Poland is propably about to get a shitload of dosh for feeding its people to russian guns and wants to make maximum profit.

I’m guessing that Poland doesn’t want to end up in a direct conflict with Russia, so they’re kind of gauging the situation and trying to figure out how far Russia is planning to go. I expect Russia wouldn’t want to deal with occupying west Ukraine because that’s where most of nationalist sentiment is. If Poland is dumb enough to make it their problem, I’m sure Russia will be perfectly fine with that. This would also severely undermine western narrative about trying to protect Ukraine.

However, in most categories, Poland, like many other signatories, is far from reaching those limits, making suspension of the treaty mostly symbolic. Under CFE, Poland is allowed to have up to 1,630 tanks, 2,150 armoured combat vehicles, 1,610 artillery units, 460 combat aircraft and 130 attack helicopters.

    Ok then.

Should Poland suspend its participation in the treaty, it will no longer be constrained by limits on the size of its armed forces nor have to annually report on their status.

Since Russia’s full-scale invasion [say the line Bart!] of Ukraine, Poland has embarked on an unprecedented military spending spree, agreeing the purchase of hundreds of modern tanks, aircraft, air defence systems, and other hardware, mainly from the United States, South Korea and the United Kingdom.

Btw so far all those new deals failed. Literally ALL of them. Poland military contracts are such a hub of ineptitude and corruption that even US MIC can only gape in awe. We build one patrol boat for nearly two decades and try to buy helicopters for nearly as long without any success.
