It’s missing the part where the instructions are literally “Boil for 5-7 minutes. Serve.”
Yeah, but what if I misread it? Or i forgot how much time these noodles cook for cause the noodles I cooked yesterday took 9-10 minutes.
Yep. Everytime
Occasionally I get in the habit of putting it on the counter next to me.
Then after a few times of doing that successfully my brain says to throw it away because surely I will remember how long this time and it is back to trash can diving.
Same
I love how controversial this is. You really hit a nerve!
the sacred texts
I gave up on this and just wing it now. It’s not always perfect, but it’s premade, and I just blame it on the company.
Why not just delay throwing the box away until you’re finished cooking?
Because that’s not how it works or we wouldn’t be on this post having this chat, probably. ;)
I somehow managed to memorize the instructions for Kraft Mac & Cheese, despite being as horribly ADHD as everyone else in these comments.
- Boil 6 cups of water
- Add pasta, boil 7-8 minutes (personally I’ve found that 6½ minutes is the sweet spot; any more and the pasta turns mushy)
- Drain pasta, return to pot
- Mix in 4 tbsp butter (half a stick) and 1/4 cup milk (I skip the milk and add a handful of shredded cheddar instead.)
And then of course you should spice it up with a protein like bacon, tuna, lobster, or surimi. I also like to add half a bag of frozen peas sometimes. Or onions and tomatoes to compliment the meat, then bake in the oven like a casserole. Season with your choice of black pepper, old bay, and/or garlic powder (or all three). Top with breadcrumbs if that’s your thing (personally not a fan).
