              Oh tu sais moi je critique mais ma capacité à utiliser les modèles génératifs est à raz des pâquerettes. J’ai utilisé Chat-GPT une fois dans ma vie et je me suis énervé devant quelques générateurs d’images parce que je ne voulait pas prendre le temps de chercher la bonne tournure pour mes prompts.

    C’est cool et impressionnant… Mais franchement à quoi ça sert vraiment ?? Si je veux une image je peux en chercher une sur internet, non ?

    Et je reste toujours étonné de voir qu’une techno si energivore ne rencontre pas plus de réticence dans les usages. 😣

      Une image prend 5-20 secondes à être générer sur ma 3090, avec des qualité plus généreuse ce qu’on trouve plus bas.
      Une RTX 3090 a un TDP de 350W, 20*350W => 7000Ws => 1.9Wh
      Sur l’année 2023, l’intensité carbonne était de 47gCO2/kWh, soit 47mg/Wh.
      On est donc a 89.3mg de CO2 pour générer une image, et j’ai pris la fourchette haute a chaque fois.

      Un aller retour paris-new york pour une personne génère 1.75 tonnes de CO2.
      Pour la meme quantité de CO2, on peut générer 19 millions d’images.

          L’objectif était de 2 tonnes par personne par ans non ? Donc 5.4kg/jour.
          On est à 0.0016% du crédit carbonne pour une journée.
          C’est plus les couts de constructions de la carte graphique qui joue sur l’impact carbonne que l’utilisation.

          On a pas pris en compte le cout de la construction de l’avion non plus.

          Pour stable diffusion, ca a pris 150kh de temps GPU (c’est le chiffre officiel).
          Ca fait 52.5MWh avec le meme calcul que plus haut.
          En Californie ils tournent autour de 300gCO2/kWh
          Ca fait 15.75 tCO2.
