There’s something poetic about royalty devolving back into nothing more than shitty landlords.
There is no devolution here. That’s what they always were.
Sure, conceptually. It’s just a big step down from “own half the world and can order armies around” to “own a few hundred flats and have to get a court order to evict someone.”
