  • Well, kind of. Posts in this community are requests for drawings and OP’s text is the request prompt for a drawing with that theme. And don’t get me wrong, the movie looks absolutely fitting, and I got something new to watch, thank you!

And damn, I’m so sorry to hear that… truly hope that your wrist heals and you regain control soon again… and I hope you are safe if you are still homeless.

Ignore my comment - I just try to keep top level comments in a post for drawing submissions but when we get a nice comment with a recommendation or something (like yours) it is also fine. I’m not so strict about it and my comment was more of a sarcastic attempt to get a drawing from you (this community is for “bad” drawings too).

So don’t worry about drawing, all good! Thanks again for the movie tip and I hope your wrist heals soon and that you are in a safe place now.

  • Ok I took interest and want to help you so I got into this, downloaded thunder and did some testing and my conclusion is that your issue is related to the lemmy/fediverse post/comment language settings. The hoodie post is the latest post on BIFL that is not tagged as english post.

Ill elaborate in a sec once I can reproduce your issue on thunder.

Edit 1: in the following screenshot from BIFL from the lemmy web UI you can see that the hoodie post is the only one with “undetermined” language setting:

The posts you don’t see are set explicitly to “english”. By default posts should be “undetermined” but communities/instances can change defaults.

I can’t fully remember the confusing logic of these content language settings, but ill report back once I play around with thunder for a sec.

Edit 2: I can now confirm that I was able to reproduce your issue and that it is indeed what thunder calls “Discussion language”.

Go to your account settings in thunder > Discussion language > make sure you have “undetermined” and also “english”. You should add other languages which you want to see.

I know. I hate how this works as well, but that has always been an annoying part of lemmy and fediverse :( you are probably not seeing any posts / comments that have a language set. Most of lemmy content is either undetermined or english though, so adding english should fix it for you.

    Hope this works out!
