Honestly, the search results are better. I actually get answers to what I look up. Smaller websites aren’t pushed away, no big companies pushing their way into the first 100 Search results, cause they paid money. It’s actual answers from pages that do not just advertise their product as “the answer to my question”. I don’t miss google at all. Ecosia is doing a great job.

And as an Cs student, the pages I now get recommended are honestly top tire. I also like the design, in my opinion it just looks better. I’m using a 2015 macbook and an t450 thinkpad, both struggle less with ecosia.

So honestly I can recommend it. It’s a solid 8/10

Why only 8? Cause when I click on maps for example, it still leads me to gmaps.

Did you ever try DuckDuckGo? According to Wikipedia:

Ecosia delivers a combination of search results from Yahoo!, Google,[6] Bing and Wikipedia.[5]
Advertisements are delivered by Yahoo! and Microsoft Advertising as part of a revenue sharing agreement with the company.[7]

That doesn’t really sound that different from ddg.
