I’m fairly sure the first couple doesn’t give a white south African rhino’s ass about protests. The best proof of that is that they probably won’t even send the police to do some police brutality. But the protestors will feel better and that’s something.
Still, protests are the beginning of something bigger and more amenable to turn things around. It has to start somewhere…
Yes, it’s a good way for people to meet and make connections for the future, and I think is quite important to see that others are out there who are willing to stand up, even if it’s just for a protest.
