So now, the EU and China can start really profiteering from the US system. Thank you Mr president for this influx (and return) of research. I do understand, on the whole, the world is loosing a lot because if the US pulls out of research funding, then it means globally funding recedes. But I’ll take the small gain to compensate the huge loss.

It’s virtually impossible to get scientific funding in Europe nowadays. How are they going to poach US scientists?
