I have a new thing that helps me with ADHD to some extent: breathwork. I’m finding myself feeling really focused and clear-headed after doing dynamic and/or holotropic breathwork. The former involves saturating with oxygen then doing breath holds and the latter uses a 3-part mouth breath. I wasn’t expecting that to have an effect on ADHD symptoms, but here we are. I just came back from a 45-minute breathwork session, and I can actually think. It’s not 100%, of course, but it’s noticeable. I just wish I didn’t have to hyperventilate on the floor for an hour for my brain to start working, lol.
As long as it works, it’s alright.
Oh that’s really interesting, I’ll have to give that a try. I am thinking it would pair well with mindfulness meditation
It absolutely does! I love meditating after breathwork.
