Among the most active Hololive English branch members is Kiara Takanashi, a Vtuber who is coming up on her fifth year performing with Cover. She’s also quite prolific, working on original songs, covers, conducting interviews on Holotalk, and streaming games. Siliconera got a chance to catch up with her following the release of “Perfume” to talk about her latest song, other tracks, and plans for the future.

I’ll admit I’m not sure if I would be more excited or scared for a Vtuber at Eurovision… but honestly, with people like Tommy Cash and Little Big, there’s a chance she wouldn’t even be the “weirdest” contestant lol (plus, of course, she’s great at singing and her songs are really catchy, if people can go beyond the “novelty” I’m sure she could gain quite a good number of new fans)

I’m not sure either but I want to believe that Europe is ready for it. If the Americans can have Hololive show up at Dodger’s games we should be able to have them at the Eurovision!

Eh, that’s a different matter, one is a collaboration in one (now two) days, in the break before/between/after the games, doing stuff to entertain that apparently gets pretty weird even without VTubers involved (I think one time a team had Spongebob sing or something?).

An anime girl being an official contestant in such a big event might be a bit too much for a lot of people. Still, again, I’d be curious to see what would happen. Hopefully the naysayers are in the minority and most people can keep an open mind about it.

There absolutely would be controversy from the usual people complaining about everything but I think the majority would just shrug and go along with it. Eurovision is weird enough as is, what’s anime girls showing up on top of that?

No no, #MythForEurope (though if Liz gets to Eurovision I definitely wouldn’t complain either)
