I am actually surprised by that number. I’m not sure why but I didn’t expect it to go so high so soon.
It appears that these countries now have some form of warning associated with travelling to the USA:
- Australia
- Belgium
- Canada
- Denmark
- Finland
- France
- Germany
- Ireland
- Mexico
- Netherlands
- New Zealand
- Norway
- Portugal
- United Kingdom
American here. They are not wrong.
Does this mean I can claim asylum in these countries too? I am also fearful of my own country.
There is a non-zero probability that this regime is coming after people like me.
Good start, now let’s push that to 90%
I expect it’ll drop down further on its own, since some things that were set up before the US election are still trickling through the system. By next year, there won’t be much of that left.
There’s a decent percentage of Canadians who aren’t taking this seriously or even the 20% of right wingers who are pro-American. Plus friend and family ties, and practical issues like saving money on shopping or flights with a US layovers.
But yeah especially as the antagonism relating to tangible impacts from the trade war escalates, i expect it will naturally continue to decline.
Why just 90%? Make it 99%! 100%! 150%!
Elbows UP!!!
