I have some awesome gnochi from an Italian restaurant to sink my sore mouth into, some cheesecake, and a fluffy cat to annoy.

    Life’s good for now ❤️

Edit: as this is my last night of freedom before working again, I’m staying up one last time!!!

Everyone in the block of flats next door have moved out (was sold, probably end up being townhouses), last dude to leave who has early onset dementia came and said goodbye which was a bit sad. Really nice guy and can’t imagine the move for him is gonna be easy.

Other place next door on the other side (with a bunch of noisy kids which is all good) have moved out cause they’re about to do renos.

Completely neighbourless, and the lack of noise reminds me of locky lockdowns which to be honest isn’t the worst thing.

Which brings us the rave choon

I think I could get used to this

The embiggening appears to have worked. I think my feet look quite fetching.

I’ll now be wearing them until bedtime just to make sure they settle in to the peculiarities of my feet

      Good idea.

Hope it goes ok for you.

How’s your headache from the other day going?

Neck and shoulder tightness and strains also cause me to get headaches, especially if I’ve been hunched over at a desk and it bunches up all my muscles together.

I think they’re called tension headaches?

Thanks mate :) Headache is subsided, doing exercises to try to stop it happening in the first place.

I get the same thing from sitting at a desk. Ergonomics is really, really important.

I call them migraines because I’m pretty much paralysed; can’t get up, can’t move, can’t eat, feel like throwing up from the pain.

        Stretch your shoulders everyone!!! lol

The spinach recalls because of E. Coli remind me of when I got salmonella from spinach in the early 2010s. My ex and I were so so sick, dying on the couch watching TV together, when the news started talking about it - that’s how we found out what we had and why we were sick 😂

It’s the only time I’ve ever had salmonella.

    0/10 do not recommend.

much quieter here, last place had 5 neighbouring houses doing renos, one is a major demolition, the other uses jack hammers

and no aggressive junkies here, no porch pirates so far, had a package sit on my porch all day, was still there

and last thing I saw in my street in Carlton, first time I saw a homeless lady pushing a shopping trolley with her belongings, I went up to her and gave her a 20, she spoke in a middle class accent

I do understand living in the suburbs ( which I haven’t done in 35 years ) means that even if I don’t see social problems that doesn’t mean the problem has gone away 😔

Apparently I had a deprived childhood. I have never made or worn an Easter bonnet or hat. I thought it was an odd new thing, but friends of the same vintage and similar geography tell me this had been happening for many decades, I’ve just somehow completely missed it. Huh.

I have tried a disc recently, never tried a cup. The disc is okay but I’m not well versed in it.

I haven’t used cups but I want to try them as well lol

I use period undies, and overnight pads on the heavy days. Period undies are good, but the best ones are ones made from fabric - cheap ones are mostly polyester/synthetic and they cause a bit of sweat rash. The fabric ones are breathable, and I haven’t leaked once with them.

Not really part of this discussion but which are the good brands? I have to start thinking about this soon for Miniest and I want to have some in the cupboard handy for when the painters suddenly arrive 😳

I’ve got bonds, kmart and love luna, and the bonds are better. I don’t trust them on heavy days though because they leak through the side seams at the gusset when the river is flowing.

Seconding Bonds. At Woolies they’re sometimes on special, usually just next to the pads/tampons. The cheaper versions are synthetic polyester stuff which isn’t great in hot weather, makes my ass sweaty and rashy, so check what they’re made of - any lace ones are also not great and will fall apart. But anything that’s fabric blend is good for breathability and longevity. I can’t remember the other brand of fabric ones (maybe love luna?) I have but I also got them from Woolies.

Ooh okay! I think I have some of those that I haven’t given a good go - am kind of scared to, but I shall try them when I know I’ll be at home all day.

There’s a quiz called put a cup in it that can help you find the right cup for you and also one for discs as well.

I stopped using them but try Meluna for smaller options. The Lunette and Divacup are quite large.

Also practice wearing one at home and get used to it before wearing it out.

I’ve been using the saalt one which has been alright, but it leaks unless I open it fully and then insert it, which is kind of painful. I think the cup doesn’t pop open because it’s too soft.

I will look at the meluna ones, thank you :)

Once in you can pinch the base and twist it to try and help it pop open, run your finger around the outside, or try a different folding method.

The Meluna are good and come in normal or Shortie but keep in mind they’re a bit pricey and depending on your needs the smaller sizes could be way too small. Definitely look up size comparison charts online

Been a couple of years now since I got an IUD and haven’t needed a cup. But I used one for a few years and had a great run (wish I’d been brave enough to use them before). Sadly they were some no name brand I got on special overseas so couldn’t tell you what to get. They sent a medium and large size, the medium was supposed to be for women my size who hadn’t had vaginal births but it leaked so I tried the large and that fit me just right. Though it took a few tries to work out how to fold and insert smoothly. Also my very first time I pulled it out without releasing the seal… do not, under any circumstance, do that.

But yeah it’s hard to tell without just trying one first, to work out the size and shape of your vagina. The first may not be the best fit and you may have to wear the cost of trying again. Once you find one that works though, it’s SO awesome - cleaner undies, fresher cooch, much less anxiety around leakage.
