They are opportunistic, not monopolistic, and the political pushback reversed the trend toward privatisation in most of the country. Private prisons are a stain on our national character, they need to be shut down. but we have bigger shit to worry about right now.
How does this not anger the domestic prison industrial complex?
We utilize them before people are sent to cecot so they’re still happy…
