To be fair even purely mechanical ones would be extremely difficult to open once water is even part way up the doors. The pressure difference inside & outside the car only grows higher as the water level gets higher. That’s why it’s always a good idea to have a tool Like this nearby that can both break the glass and cut your seatbelt.
