Thursday April 17, 2025 Donald Trump with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni claims egg prices are down 92% right before Easter Egg Sunday. Cults of HDTV and streaming meme networks, this is alternate-reality televangelism of Billionaire “Trickle Down content” to cult population

President Donald Trump lashed out at a reporter who asked how long Americans can expect the pain of rising prices to last during an Oval Office press availability with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Thursday afternoon.

An unidentified reporter asked the president about tariff deals, noting he also said he is in ”no rush” to see these through. “Americans are seeing prices rise. They’re seeing it on their bills. How long can they expect that pain to last?” Trump was asked.

“So, they’ve already seen it get much better, “Trump replied, before attacking the reporter, “because if you were truthful, which you’re not, and I know you very well.”

“You have gasoline that hit a dollar and 98 yesterday in a couple of states. You have gas lanes way down. The price of oil has dropped substantially. The prices of groceries are substantially down,” he continued before going on a familiar jag about the price of eggs and how he’s only been in office a short time, or not long enough to lower egg prices, which is something he campaigned on, despite external factors effecting the supply.

“You know, when I came in, they hit me with eggs. I just got there. I was here for one week, and they started screaming at me, eggs have gone through the roof. I said, I just get here. I was there for seven days, and I hear that eggs have done through the roof before I got there,.

“And there was screaming at me, the press,” he said. “The fake news like you, you’re fake. And the fake news is screaming at me, like, about eggs. I said, I’ve only been here, this is my seventh day. And they were right, they went up 87% and you couldn’t get them. They said, you won’t have eggs for Easter, which is coming up, Happy Easter, everybody. You want eggs for Easter,” he added, “And we did an unbelievable job, and now eggs are all over the place, and the price went down 92%.”

The price of eggs has not gone down by 92% since Trump took office. On January 20th, the day Trump took the oath of office, Grade A eggs in the US were $5.81, a record high price for that point in time. The price went up sharply in the first months of his second term, mainly due to extenuating circumstances like a breakout of the avian flu, among other factors.

However, according to the Consumer Price Index report, egg prices increased in March.
