I saw them at Coachella in 03 or somewhere thereabouts. They were OK. I was super high. The sun had set about an hour before so it wasn’t a million degrees. It was enjoyable, but predictable.
They happen to be playing a local venue here in southern Oregon later this year. Still on the fence on getting tickets.
I’ve never seen them live but I their kind of music doesn’t bode well with live performances. Contrast that with something like metal which is inherently high intensity music and the bands have a higher incentive to give a good performance. One example I can give is when I saw Exodus live. Their prerecorded material that I had heard prior was no match for their live performance.
What’s hilarious is Kruder Dorfmeister opened for them and absolutely killed it. Two guys and some computers blew them away. It seemed like TC brought their own sound guy and he had no idea how to fill the room, everybody was off key, and the main dude was insufferable but I love their albums . I love metal and punk shows too. If you can, check out the Schizophonics…absolutely amazing stage presence.
I dig these guys so much but boy they are pure ass live.
