Speaking to the BBC, she said: "I understand why there’s so much focus on our trading relationship with the US but actually our trading relationship with Europe is arguably even more important, because they’re our nearest neighbours and trading partners.
Demonstrably so for the simple reason that any deal with the US is not trustworthy. The administration cannot be relied upon to not do a rug pull. There is no point wasting time negotiating a deal that will last all of 5 weeks or until Trump has his next tantrum whichever comes first.
