I don’t think it’s possible to eliminate all contradictions and tensions, so we can figure there are always going to be people who are at odds with the society they live in to one degree or another. Whether that means they are trying to do harm and need correction, or simply that they need better accommodation for what makes them stand out. Incidentally, with regards to accommodation, I don’t think the commonly-liberal shtick about letting people “be themselves unless they are doing harm” is entirely misguided as a desire; it’s just out of touch when pushed as some kind of utopian step of ultimate acceptance, while ignoring still-existing systems of exploitation that are constantly undoing individualist acceptance because the systems need division to function.
