I'm an American living in Norway. Every time someone figures out I'm American they immediately ask me about my thoughts on Trump. How do I mess with them?

First say “jeg taler ikke englesk”, then regardless of what they said back, say “jeg taler ikke Dansk”

Incidentally, using the verb å tale in “jeg taler ikke engelsk” strikes me as a bit odd, maybe a bit old-fashioned. Looking at Tr-ex and Glosbe, “I can’t speak English” is normally phrased as “jeg kan ikke engelsk”, “jeg snakker ikke engelsk”, or “jeg kan ikke snakke engelsk”, although I might personally say “jeg forstår ikke engelsk”.

Yeah, part of the joke is to say the sentence in broken ye’ olde Danish. Normal Danish people would’ve said “jeg kan ikke tale englesk”

I thought it might’ve been intentionally old-fashioned. Maybe throw in some I’s and eder’s or De’s and Dem’s to really sell it…

Edit: I just noticed, it says englesk instead of engelsk, too.
