The “flute life” (thanks, I’m gonna call it that from now on) was just a simulation using other people’s memories. The Nexus is a real manifestation outside of time.
Even though Picard left the Nexus, the reality his desires created still exists. In fact, there’s still an echo of Picard in the Nexus.
That’s kind of comforting, in a way. His nephew and brother are still alive in the Nexus, they’re celebrating Christmas and everything’s cool. Tea for everybody.
How many children does Picard have?
If you count dead clones, 2 (I think).
If you count the Nexus, the man has been busy.
Oof, should we count his flute life? He had like great grand kids in that one.

🫖 Have a cup, didn’t mean to make you cry. Picard had his Earl Grey and drank it, too. He has Wesley, Jack and his shipmates. He got a good dog…
Oh man, I could swear there were 3 because of the fake son Damon Tog tried to kill.
But that episode was so stupid I forgot the whole ‘plot twist’.
