Not only we have got a cliffhanger at the end but two.
We have got no lore about magical girls. Some rambling about bureau. Metal song cover. Finale that doesn’t remotely feel like finale.
Past 12 episodes were a wild ride. Through isekai, psychics, magical girls, reverse isekai and a double cliffhanger. I still don’t know what happened. For me this anime is so bad that it became actually good.
And all exess budged went into this weapon reload:
Not only we have got a cliffhanger at the end but two. I know, right? It feels like we’re supposed to get right back into it with an episode 13 next week, but of course that’s not going to happen.
I eagerly await the announcement for S2, but this one’s not too popular, so I think that’s iffy.
You’d think that Pii-chan would be able to detect the demon’s magical activity in the apartment next door, or vice versa, which leads me to suspect that this demon isn’t from Pii-chan’s world, but more like an evil mascot from a magical girl show, who clearly plans to turn neighbor-girl into a dark magical girl rival for Pink and Yellow to fight.
Or maybe the demon is the mascot behind Pink and Yellow, who knows?
This episode’s title is 現代と異世界と四つ目の世界 (Modern Times, Isekai, and the fourth world) so Demons and Angels seems to be from the fourth world (and presumably Magical Girls from a third).
Episode one started really good and made me really interested in this one. Truth to be told, I didn’t enjoy the later half episodes. Unlike other isekai anime, this one has characters with interesting backgrounds and different power system which made me kept watching until the end. If they are doing a new season, with better production quality, then it is something to wait for.
The boring Marc-san saga took far too long, but these last 2 episodes after that have returned to the previous level of high level of entertainment, doing what this show did best.
I did enjoy this show. It’s not great. It could have been way better if it had started actually explaining some things instead of just adding new themes and power systems.
Marc arc was the most boring by far. If this gets a second season I will definitely watch it, but I won’t be unhappy if it doesn’t.
