And with drastic change in art style like how original manhwa art changed from season 1 to 2.
Because these are all new characters.
Some really great new shows this season. Delicious in Dungeon, Kaijuu NO.8, Jellyfin Can’t Swim At Night. Really enjoyed those.
Konosuba season 3 went so quickly, it is still as funny as previous seasons. Slime had a lot of table meetings but I enjoyed those too.
I haven’t seen original Spice and Wolf and I watch this season new series. It is good but I paused at episode 4 and I will continue later.
Girls Band Cry experience got ruined by MT sub. Waiting for good subs for this.
I just started watching Girls Band Cry and notice there is no official English sub just recently Indonesia got official Eng sub. And the English sub most high sea sites used are MT so there are a lot of errors and sometime make no sense. Are there any good non-MT fan-sub for this? Or does the MT sub quality get better?
Tower of God is very re-read friendly. Everytime you re-read, you notice subtle things the author hinted. Dr Bonehead YouTube channel has good summary of season 1.
Nothing in that trailer really made sense to me
A lot of new characters and story lines appear. No OG crew is there. Maybe that is why.
Found a thread on MAL linking a Twitter post detailing the production of the show. And it seems really bad, director change before airing, the whole team leaving the project.
Thunder app has ability that can view all community that has federated with your instance.
I remember seeing someone saying this anime can has sad ending and this episode agrees. But it is nice to see girls growing up and having different aims now. Mahiru wants to improve herself by challenging a larger stage. Kanon really needs to figure out why and for whom she is singing for now.
This is exiting. I love the original movie and other installments. Base on PV, they are gonna adapt the original manga for this. From what I have seen from a small portion of the interview with the original director, the manga goes more complex than the anime. And Science SARU adapting, surprised it is not Production IG. Really looking forward to this. Hope this also brings that feeling of futuristic but not so-futuristic sci-fi world that the original movie brought with it.
For now, I will go and finish GITS:Arise.
I didn’t have a thing for tights and stockings untill I saw Miru Tights. This anime made me appreciate stocking, tights and feet related stuffs after watching.
Yes. It doesn’t look like normal mecha anime but I don’t see it as a parody anime. I believe it can be a good anime for starter since Gurren Lagann shows how crazy and stupid anime can be sometime.
Best to start is series that are finished with one season (24 max). My recommendations
As expected from a slice-of-life,music original anime from Doga Kobo, pretty good fist episode. I’ve been eyeing on this one since the preview poster dropped. Looks like one MC will join the team as an illustrator unlike other shows all girls will perform in the band.
Wow. I didn’t expect that.
I haven’t seen this one yet. Judging from the MAL genre tag, this will has more drama elements than the shows you mentioned.
Mushi-shi and Violet Evergarden have been recommended by others and I also highly recommend them.
Other shows which have exploration theme with character build up
A group of four girls travelling to the Antarctica.
A shut-in jobless man reincarnated into a fantasy world. Try his best to conquer his previous traumatic past in new world.
Due to a mysterious beam, all the world population turn into stone. After thousands of year, a boy reawakens and tries to rebuild the civilization.
Following her mother trait, a girl and her friend dive down the abyss where they will meet all sort of mysterious ceratures.
Yes, OST is good. I still had some hope for this even after midway. For me, it just got worse. It feels like the story doesn’t know where to go so they just glue random events together. It is definitely let-down anime for Studio Bones 25th Anniversary.
Watched quite a few show this season. The two that stood out for me is, not surprisingly, Frieren and Apothecary Diaries.
I am not Frieren source reader, so I didn’t know what to expect, but everyone was hyping about it. That made me watch it and it didn’t disappoint. I have never gave a show 10 in MAL but after last episode of Frieren, I gave my first 10/10 score. Also I heard about really good things about Apothecary Diaries and went in blind. The thing I like about Apothecary Diaries is, the lead female character. The story is not that unique if you have seen a handful of historical Korean or Chinese Drama but still it is interesting to see how MC solve the disputes. Love the chibi character moments in this.
Another anime I want to talk is Solo Leveling. I read the manhwa and it has really good art and it works really good for vertical scroll reading. I didn’t think it would translate well for animation. But Studio A1 did their best in animation and the music by Swano made me hype for the MC fights. Also really love the anime added development for side characters.
Ishura is an anime that is best watched after finish airing. The first four or five episodes are new characters introduction but after that the wait really paid off. Jumped on Ninja Kamui hype train mid season, decent revenge story with good fights. Really had high hopes for Metallic Rouge, but didn’t meet my expectations.
Banished from Hero Party s2 more focuses on new hero but the main MC couple also has their moments too. I don’t know why I like this series, maybe because its chilly story and MC couple moments.
Season 1 just ended this Friday.
Definitely will be watching these
Maybe
I am the most excited for Tower of God season 2 of this list. This is where the story gets really interesting and exciting. Also hyping to see a certain character moment.
Thanks to you telling to check out “My Deer Friend Nokotan” trailer video in a post, I checked it out and now it is now one of my awaiting show.
