    I think there’s an important factor the article omits: apparently, Montreal has a higher proportion of “missing middle” housing than (most? all?) other North American cities. I think that’s part of why the Bixi bike docks work there, whereas dockless is necessary to get to more spread out, low-density destinations (and then, of course, utterly fails at serving the trips in the other direction, from spread out origins).
