I just completed a big milestone in my whitewater kayaking journey, my first grade three trip, down the Hut gorge.
Put in was just downstream of the waterworks at Kaitoke regional park, and get out at Te Marua.
One combat roll, no swims, flow approx 6.5 cumec at the Kaitoke gauge, probably about 8 after the Pakuratahi joins the flow.
