It’s interesting how when it comes to trucks, the American automakers are the high reliability brands, while Toyota’s trucks are very hit or miss, practically lemon-level reliability.

I think most Toyota trucks are considered very reliable. Their worst enemy is rust. Other Japanese brands like Nissan are less consistent than Toyota though.
Nissan took a huge reliability hit with their CVTs, then their variable compression engines further hurt their reputation.
Depends on the era tbh. Nissan Hardbodys with the KA24 will go toe-to-toe with the Toyotas from the same time in my experience
