Any news about when the next app update will be released?
I’m hesitant to ask more of an already generous (and overworked) volunteer dev, but it would be nice to have more frequent updates on what features are currently being worked on.
Might it be possible for @[email protected] to give us a sneak peek at what is to come, or a (tentative) timeline or sequence for upcoming releases?

Right now, I can’t give you an exact timeline. The current state of the master branch (the nightly builds) is less than ideal. It will require some time to make it less buggy and sluggish.
I could, however, put together a minor release from the patches we already have there but building on the 0.1.2 release. This would include the new sorting types and instance blocking introduced in Lemmy 0.19.
That would be great. The new scaled sorting is all I personally am (patiently) waiting for.

It’s an open source app with work being done for free during the developers free time. Feel free to pitch in when you can. Could be anything from translations, bug reporting, or coding if possible.
Do you have any advice on getting started with contributing to this sort of thing? I have some rudimentary coding experience, but none on app development, which seems a bit daunting.
If you can’t code it’s ok.
You can start by logging bugs, adding steps on how to reproduce it, with screenshots.

Well I can confirm it’s incompatible and there are multiple issues on Codeberg outlining its incompatibilities. Notably I’m seeing failure to vote and failure to mark as read, but also looks like 2FA is impacted.
Is there a feature you’d like or a bug you need to report? If so, ask for it (and if doable among all that needs to be done, I guess it will be implemented)
I’m really happy about Eternity and have only minor quibbles, I’d like fixed (none of which are deal breakers and I’ll be happy even if they never get implemented).
In my case, I’d like
(1) The option to reload at any point. When I doom scroll too much and want to reload, I need to scroll all the way up to the very beginning
(2) When I scroll down, the top part of the feed gets mixed up with the clock, the battery and more generally the notification bar, so I cannot read well anymore
If they have already been implemented, I guess I didn’t find them in the options
In any case, Eternity is awesome! I had installed about 7 apps last summer when I didn’t know what to use. Now it’s Eternity all the way!
Personally I’m waiting for an update that would enble the 0.19 stuff like exporting account stuff but morenimportantly the “weighted hot” sorting option (forgot what it’s called) so I can see posts from the smaller communities in my feed.
(1) When you scroll back up just a bit the top menu bar appears. In the three dot menu is “refresh” which will reload.
