I know a guy who installed a large flood light on the back of his truck. He officially has it as a work light, but he uses it to flash tailgaters and people who follow him too close with their high beams on.

My buddy had a car with a rear windshield wiper and he bent the thing that sprays wiper fluid so he can spray the car behind him.

      highdea:

a remote controlled 3 foot wide mirror that I can directionally maneuver from drivers seat to aim at offenders behind me.

Your rearview mirror can do that. Yes. A larger concave mirror can direct more light back, but then you have to have a 3 foot wide mirror taking up space in the cabin or exposed to the weather outside the car, it would be prone to failure.

So just aim your rearview at them.

I was thinking a mirrored surface on the motorized pad near the trunk of vehicle on outside. rear view doesn’t seem to have enough ooomph behind it to be satisfying.

I’ve always envisioned such a device to be structured like window slat blinds.
The slats lay horizontal when not in use to minimize view obstruction, and rotate into position on command.

Another car idea that I’m sure would just get me into trouble is having a mic and loudspeaker so I can speak to other drivers instead of just honking. A horn lacks the nuance of the spoken word.
