I just got off foodstamps in the us. They gave us about $2.40 per meal per person if you assumed 3 meals per day. During covid and summer vacation (2 children) they gave bonus amounts most moneys as well. It was doable with a full time cook. Would have been incredibly difficult without the time to prepare most things from scratch.
the grocery store inflation from 2022-2024 has been brutal.
