ICJ can keep saying whatever they want, they don’t have any mechanism for enforcement though
Agreed, from what Israel has been saying, they will not stop until somebody makes them.
And no one will make them if the US won’t.
For what it’s worth, even if nothing happens, at least it shows everyone else who are the genocide enablers.
These cases aren’t do/don’t. This ruling will likely give not weight to any government parties considering sanctions or other strategies.
I also hate that we don’t have any way to stop genocides from happening, but currently sanctions and trade pressure aren’t currently our most effective/efficient strategies. Hopefully this ruling will be one more bit of pressure, in addition to other pressures, that will provide a path to a longer term solution.
