Yes and no. Obviously, trans and drag are two different things, but they are hated for the same reason: transgressing gender normativity and especially showing it’s OK for AMAB persons to have and display characteristics traditionally assigned to femininity.
So yes, equating trans with drag is wrong for all reasons, but this doesn’t make this cartoon transphobic, only realistic.
Yep. If they ban drag performance, and don’t recognize trans identity as valid, then trans people presenting as their gender would be considered “in drag.” Merely going out in public would be criminalized, which is the point. They want extermination, but will take disappearance in the meantime.
Isn’t it transphobic to lump drag queens and trans people together?
Sure is.
Both of the characters in this comic are transphobic, though.
Though the characters never mention trans people at all. And nothing in the comic implies trans people.
Take another look at the dialogue in the first panel, and the t-shirt worn by the chump.
You can find it, I believe in you.
I see it now.
The first panel has the left character saying “trans people” and the right character wearing an “LGB sithout the T” shirt
“We did it! We finally outlawed all the trans people…”
Dude it’s the first fucking line…

Transphobic legislation usually doesn’t make the distinction, because, you see, it’s transphobic legislation.

i would assume the artist is mocking the terfs and transphobic l’s and g’s who got in on the “save the children” nonsense
