I recently asked if she could pop a zit I couldn’t reach on my back, and she said she “preferred not to, as it’s a bit gross”.

Should I break up with her?

If you’re ever having children, there will be many things that are “a bit gross”, be it in pregnancy, during childbirth, after childbirth or just diapers.

She’ll (rightfully) expect you to deal with all that, right? If pimples are where the “that’s gross, not gonna do it” line is, things will get rough.

However, it’s good that comment-OP’s partner felt safe saying what they were not comfortable with. They should talk it over (about future “gross duties”) rather than just break up.

Oh absolutely. It’s a barrier that doesn’t need to fall right away. But I stand by my opinion that it does have to fall.

“She’ll expect you to be a supportive partner and father who does his share, right?? That shit is gross, so she’d better get to popping your back zits!!”

        Fucking hell. Some people.

Ehhh, there’s a difference between necessary nasty stuff and not necessary. Not to say I’m a saint about it, but popping zits is bad for your skin along with being gross so I don’t think it’s necessarily a red flag if someone doesn’t want to do it.

Disagree. I have done and seen some nasty shit in my years as a husband and father (including the birthing of my children) and dog owner, but I would never pop somebody’s zits.

Not everyone cares to have children, so that’s a whole big realm of “gross” bypassed.

Between two people, the amount of gross stuff NEEDING to be done should be minimal barring health issues.

I mean, getting older and ‘gross’ health issues happens to everyone really… Or at least you should expect that it is likely to happen to you…

that’s completely stupid. popping zits is fucking disgusting and unnecessary. it’s different from caring for your children. and pregnancy isn’t gross at all wth is wrong with you. unless you have to deliver the baby yourself neither the delivery nor anything after childbirth is gross either… they’re not even comparable to popping zits, what the fuck…

“i can’t believe you expect me to exist near you while you’re pregnant but you’re not even ok with picking my nose”

Someone’s gotta check your butthole for ticks after a hike. Don’t want to get Lyme
