if you write it how people would really act… just a guy killing other guys with a book

I mean, yeah,sure, but if you wrote it much like reality (ignoring that the supernatural killing bit isn’t like reality), then light’s plan wouldn’t have worked in the first place. To me, that was the biggest suspension of disbelief. The credible threat of prison, or execution, doesn’t stop crime now, why would it in light’s world?
