The Surreal Touch controllers were first announced back in July. Their Kickstarter campaign launched last week with a goal of $50,000, and has to date received almost $90,000 from 330 backers.

Alongside launching the campaign, Surreal Interactive also revealed new PC VR streaming gameplay footage. Most notably, while the startup previously only showed Beat Saber on Normal difficulty, it’s now showing its founder using Surreal Touch to beat Rum n’ Bass on Expert.

For two pro controllers. Considering htc is charging $600 for three trackers it’s relatively cheap.

Quest 2 controllers cost $70 and Quest Pro controllers (which have their own tracking, just like this) cost $250. Considering $250 is the “early bird” price for Vision controllers and the retail price will be $370, it’s not “cheap” in any way.

Given the limited option of inside out tracked devices they fall in between the range of the quest pro controllers $250/two and VIVE ultimate trackers $600/three.

You can direct your attitude to them by not buying them.

I was really skeptical about their announcements, until I saw the proof of concept. Really impressive work, considering this was not the intended use of the headset at all. Shame the headset itself is still astronomically priced, assuming you can get one to begin with
