Damn gg on spain. Scoreline feels a bit harsh on switzerland though
Spain played with 10 players for 70 minutes, I don’t even know how Switzerland didn’t manage to equalize
teams past its prime. we had golden generation 2014-2024, now after a decade (and now that the euros are done) a bunch have retired. In that timeframe, we were the only team except for france to make it to every single euros + world cup round of 16
Same generation that won the U-17 world cup in 2009 for switzerland. Ended up being our best ever national team.
Now we go back to being a Norway/Ireland level team. Qualifying here and there, never going far.
Belgian here, in a kind of similar situation.
How is the national team’s perception in Switzerland?
In Belgium people tend to be harsh, but they forget that for 10 years we wouldn’t even qualify for any major tournament. 3rd place in WC 2018 was already amazing for a small country
