The axe finally hit. This shit sucks, and while there’s a chance I might get rehired in a few weeks (the reason is “budgets” and there’s a change in the budget coming that might save my job), this still sucks.
Any comrades here have an in with Hasan? I could get some reps from my union on his stream to talk about this – it’s the California budget specifically that’s impacting me, and so might be relevant for his stream (and I might be able to leverage some anti-gruesome sentiment to my benefit).
Either way, love you all. Going to spend the coming weeks applying to jobs, and once I have something I might finally be able to play Death Stranding 2. But until I’m employed again, it’s no fun just work. Fuck this society.

I’m in the same boat. I’m very fortunate to have in-demand skills that capitalists crave, but the precarity is real. Fuckin’ house of cards world economy we got going here.
The “in-demand” thing is actually incredibly insane making since in theory (I teach) the classes are there (enrollments are up), but the budget models are such that I’m getting laid off. Absolute insanity.
