Totally agree we need more socialists running locally, but that’s not what the PSL does or did.
Difference between Mamdani’s and Claudia’s campaigns is that Mamdani was actually trying to win the office he ran for and may pull it off. It’s not just PR or advertisement. So far he’s only won the primary but, I agree, that in itself and the attention he’s getting is worth it. PSL’s Presidential campaigns are not even close to being in this kind of spotlight at scale or even close to clinching any states, perhaps even any localities. Of course, if they had base support in areas built off successful local campaigns that could potentially be a different story. I hope, hope, hope that PSL finally does start running local campaigns but you have to give it to DSA for another candidate they supported and worked for getting a win.
I talk a lot of shit about DSA but they are much better in this regard.
