What can you get to within a 15-minute walk of your house?
A recent YouGov survey asked Americans what they think they should be able to get to within a 15-minute walk of their house.
Of these choices, I can currently walk to all of them from my apartment, aside from a university (no biggie, I’m not currently studying, although there is a Tafe within walking distance), a hospital, and a sports arena.

This poll shows a population not really taking the question seriously.
Why should a gas station be more accessible on foot than a local pub?
They are prioritizing things deemed necessities.
Based on that logic the pub should win out every time! In fact in my perfect 15 minute neighborhood we’ve got at least 3 pubs! And cars can’t even enter the city limits. Want a car? Park it outside the bubble and it’s only used to travel on highways
Let’s put strip clubs up there too.
@intensely_human It was a weird option to include in the survey anyway, along with giant sports arena.
Maybe they were thinking of it as a convenience store. A place you walk to, to get cigarettes late a night.
To be honest, I’d rather grab beer from the gas station near my house than the bar near my house. The bar serves Budweiser with a side of racism, and the gas station has a good craft beer selection.
