    Yeah, big oil needs to be accountable for consuming so much oil and and making so much demand. /s

    Carbon footprints are valuable for measuring national and product emissions. Which is related to consumer demand. Which is related to investments in supply. It’s all part of the same thing. Carbon footprints weren’t invented for the specific purpose of evaluating individuals even if it can technically be applied at that resolution. Shall we throw the baby out with the bathwater anyway?

    How would one stop big oil without changing consumer behaviors? Revolution? Forced degrowth? Organized illegal militancy? Are these things really more practical than changing consumer culture, or are they convenient excuses for never taking any action at all?
