Yeah, that ain’t a thing. If you’re lucky there may be one or a few* communal fire places, but it’s kinda rare. I have been the only on two, three official camp sites in Norway because I wild camped the rest, but I don’t remember seeing a fire place there either, although they may have had a communal one too. Refuges in the mountains often have an indoor fire place though.

*only really remember a single one that had a few, the one at Saignelégier, Switzerland.

That is really cool that you have these, basically unheard of in Europe, maybe some places in Scandinavia.

Do you know what this map actually does? I am wondering if it’s a coincidence that when I set osmand up, I was at around those 45m of altitude, does it maybe assume altitude 0 when being set up without this map?

Nice, this is a stove that uses these slim butane canisters, right? I buy these canisters to refill my screw mount ones, they cost like a fifth at the Indian supermarket. Works fine if not freezing.

Insufficient or no bike lights are no main reason for crashes with bicycles. More than 80% of crashes happen in full daylight, about 10% of people ride with insufficient or no lights, that makes max 2% of crashes that happen due to insufficient lights, that is if the reason in these 2% was actually the insufficient lights and not something else. Numbers for Germany.

Maybe it’s a nice light for some people, but I doubt this would have a significant effect on actual safety.

Not starting guides, like jlai.lu it’s there but some links deep hidden. This is such an obvious user experience problem that this - in my opinion - needs to be featured prominently in the main sidebar. Almost everywhere you have to dig deep to even understand that you cannot find all the communities hosted on other instances, unless you use these tools, or have a huge instance like world so basically everything is subscribed to by somebody.
