Honestly, Fox News is going to call anyone against them a socialist. That’s just what they’re going to do. There are even some Republican policies which can be construed as socialist, such as public spending on schools, even private schools.

The average voter really doesn’t care about if something is socialist or not. They clearly don’t care if something is fascist. They only care about the perception of how it will affect their life.

If you tell people they’re not going to have to pay for healthcare ever again, or that cannabis will be legal, or that you will fix the massive wealth gap, they will vote for you. Nominal Republicans would even vote for you. The downside of using the word socialism like that, is that Fox News that has removed the meaning of socialism from their base, meaning that actual socialism will not seem like such a big deal.

Very small. The VAST majority of the time that condoms fail is when they’re improperly used. The amount of QA testing on them is enormous and very good.

You should really have a suite of questions to weed out partners you don’t want. This is what the first few dates are really for. Ask them their politics, if they voted, and who they voted for, their stance on abortion etc.

Ok, I vote in every single election, including every primary. I drive seldom, use public transportation often, eat meat only twice a week, and encourage other people to adopt socially and environmentally forward beliefs.

Do you really think this is enough? I don’t, but there is only so much one person can do.

Saying that last bit about time is not particularly meaningful for two reasons.

First of all, we do not especially know the end state of the universe. It may not be true that all matter decays, and protons may be stable. We may be in a false vacuum which will spontaneously collapse in large timespans.

Second of all, the hypothetical is a thought experiment. The monkeys are a placeholder for any random generation of characters. The though experiment also does not take into consideration the food required to feed monkeys for infinite time, nor their aging, mutation over generations, and waste logistics. It’s not meaningful then to suddenly decide to apply the laws of physics to them. The only laws applicable in this scenario are logic and mathematics.

I generally agree with the rest of your take, although I disagree where you say the thought experiment is dumb. I only have an issue with that last point lol. Cheers.
