There are algorithms working in the background on Reddit to keep you there. Same with pretty much all “social media”. They aren’t on Lemmy. The point of Reddit is to keep you there, and shove as many ads down your throat as possible. Ads don’t exist here, and no one (as far as i can tell) is making money from you being here.
Yeah, there is less content, but that’s not really the biggest reason.

That aside, the article says it’s a license French bulldog. Those fuckers are EXPENSIVE. I can’t imagine just ditching thousand of dollars like that (morality of it aside).
But then they have to deal with other people’s kids. Yuck. Who wants that?!?!? Yes, I’ve heard parents say that, when in a not kid appropriate place, with their kids.
Yeah, people seem to have forgotten that parenthood is a sacrifice. I’m in no way saying people who have children shouldn’t be allowed in public, but there is a time and place for kids. Personally, I wouldn’t want my kids around a bunch of drunk people, if I were a parent.

I always thought of it like this. If the main purpose of the establishment is alcohol, children shouldn’t be allowed. So bars, breweries, etc. If a restaurant also happens to have a full bar, with bar tables (different than the regular restaurant tables) then kids should be allowed in the restaurant part only.
I know no one upholds anything like that, since I see kids all over breweries and bars in restaurants but it would be nice.
Personally, I’d pay extra for a completely child free eatery though.

I also pointed out something everyone that’s shitting on me (yes you too) missed. The organic nature of music is gone. The organic sound and feeling have been replaced by drum tracks, auto tune and digital all the things are gone.
I promise it’s not a “music is so hardcore/edgy now” thing. That would be rich though.

Drum machines of the 80s were equally shit sound imo. It happens every generation, but modern music seems to have nothing organic about it now.

Maybe it’s because I’m old, but modern music SUCKS (yeah, blanket statement. There will always be exceptions, I know). It all lacks that organic warm feeling that elicits that feel good thing music used to bring.
I honestly don’t think niche music tastes have as much to do with it as much as music seems to have become exactly like movies. Rehash something from the 80s again and call it new or like all the marvel/dc mcshit.

French press is the cheapest, simplest way to brew coffee. You don’t need special filters, electronics (that break), or even an expensive one (I use a like $25 one from Amazon).

Honestly, I’m in agreement with OP. Yes it’s going to be/is a “famous” photo, but I join subs like this to NOT see all the depressing political/end of world/consumerism crap. There are plenty of other places for cheerosupremes mugshot. I personally scrolled past at least 20 of them on other like every other sub.
