You are literally in a thread about a Socialist Democrat

Are kids living under helicopter parents that want them to study abroad even allowed to have a social media account by the parents?
Google DuckDuckGo “Tactical Pen” 😏
I love to see the reaction of those same tankies to West Gemany banning the communist party under the principle of Defensive Democracy.
Coming soon, in a Russian Satellite State near you! 🇷🇺🇺🇸🇷🇺🇺🇸

Nobel peace prizes don’t mean shit when Henry Kissenger also got it.
Reminds me of history, when nazi germany and imperial japan would perform “reprisals”, basically, they would arbitrally round up random non-combatants, most of them who aren’t even resistance, and shoot them to death in “execution” style in public, as a way to “punish” resistance activities.
If democratic voters can’t even get motivated enough to fill out a piece of paper (or press a button on a screen), how do you expect there to be enough motivation for a revolt?
“33 Senate Seats are on the ballot”
LMFAO.
Let me introduce you to Staggered Elections
Only Maine’s seat is even winnable, the other ones up for relection in 2026 are all safe Blue or Safe Red states
Currently its 53-47. Highly doubt that Dems can win 3 in Red States. (Unless we get a White Boi Hillbilly Revolution?)
The House cannot block juidicial nominations.
Judicial nominations are not subject to Filibuster.
So…
Not to be a pessimist, but…
Looks like an uphill battle…
😕
Edit:
Ask yourselves: Which of the red seats can Dems flip in 2026? (Grey ones are not up for election, only one seat is up for election per state due to staggered elections)
Despite this, you should still go vote! But don’t get too excited. Its not safe until fascists are out of executive power.

You don’t even own your body lol
I doubt entrenched powers would let the mayor of the biggest US city actually do anything radical like what he campaigned for.
Its called legislature.
You’d need like progressives to win enough seats to get a majority in city council.
If Bernie became President, he probably wouldn’t have gotten much of the progressive agenda done, just look at the composition of congress. You’d need 50 progressive senators and 218 progressive representatives, it’s a long shot. For NYC tho, that’s probably a bit easier, but still, its 26 progressive city council members needed. Basically 26 simultaneous campaigns + the Mayor’s Seat to actually transform the city.
Democrats won’t get control of the Senate until 2029 January 3rd since the only seat the democrats can win in 2026 election is Maine and its currently 53-47, everything else is locked in place by the staggered election system of the Senate.
Winning the House can’t stop the Judicial appointments that only the Senate has the power to reject
I know this is c/FuckCars, but like, I still think giving him an Armored Bulletproof Car is a net positive for the environment, because this dude is at high risk of assassination attempts (because him being a Muslim Brown guy who’s a Leftist).
He can enact way more environmentally positive policies than the total environmental impact of that one vehicle that protects him.
>Be born in an oppressive regime
>Escape from the oppressive regime
>Your new country also become an oppressive regime
people dying in Gaza
Now Iranians too, both in the US and in Iran
“High Income” is not “1%”
A lot of the “rich” people (who are more like “Middle Class” btw) aren’t even your enemies either, its the 1%.
Btw, Permanent Residents can be drafted, FYI.
Male Green card holders have to register for the Selective Service at age 18, or immediately upon entering if already 18, unless they arrive after their 27th birthday
They love to give you responsibilities, but not the rights
The US government should have to explain either why he wasn’t granted citizenship
FYI, Citizenship is not automatic. I think the reason why Citizenship isn’t automatic is because of the oath of allegiance. Its symbolic, but many countries take these procedures very seriously for some reason. I think it’s that, from the PoV of Governments (not just the US Government), and I’m not saying that I agree with this view, but Governments think that “If you really wanted to stay, you would’ve applied for citizenship as early as possible”. They (Governments around the world) want you to affirmatively choose to become a citizen, not just passively gain citizenship by waiting out a timer.
He should’ve applied for citizenship the moment the 5-year timer came up. Actualy its 4 years and 6 months and you could pre-emptively file and they’ll immediately process it at the 5 year mark. Not filing for citizenship is a very bad idea, no matter which country you are in the world. He was in the US for so long, he should’ve applied. (But then again, even with Citizenship, its still not exactly safe either with the all the autocratization going on)
I think that there should be a law that make it so that once someone becomes eligible for citizenship, they should be in a sepatate category of permanent residents, a sort of protected status against deportation for like basically anything except for serious offenses like mass murders or like a Jan 6 Insurrection type of thing.
It will happen when the fae right start starving from the economic crash. But then it might be too late.
