The best way to get familiar with it is honestly to just use it. Your knowledge of the general CAD workflow will translate, but FreeCAD definitely does some things in quirky ways, and the only way to get familiar with them is to use them. The FreeCAD forum is a great place to go for help.

Perhaps I’m misunderstanding what’s supposed to be construed as weird? 500$ is a normal amount of money. 1998 isn’t that long ago. 100 miles of travel feels totally possible. If that’s what you are referring to, it isn’t exactly what I meant. I was more referring to a dedicated static armed security force that watches entrances to the school.

I do think that it should be assumed that a business only seeks to increase profit, but I have no issue with an business making profit given a fair and competitive market, as a fair and competitive market (ie capitalist) is not zero sum. As for regulating businesses to prevent them from exploiting things to the detriment of society, I would advocate for a Georgist philosophy.
