I bought a pro license because of basic features being stripped out of home over time - here’s to hoping it’s ONLY home licenses that get abused.

She should resign, as one of the few level headed justices on SCOTUS? What kind of logic is that? You know she’s not a conservative justice, right? Like… I can’t think of any other reason you’d think this is a good idea, and during an election year no less. I see way less trolling on Lemmy than I did on reddit, but I’d like to believe this is trolling and not the actual opinion of a legitimate American voter.
She should keep fighting the good fight while we hope for a couple of justices to die or be impeached soon so we can fix the balance of SCOTUS.
Capitalism loves unfettered, infinite growth. This is such a small minded, short term mindset. I much prefer a “controlled and sustainable” growth approach. Liberals are trying to build an equitable country for all of us and our progeny, the other side is trying to cash out before it all comes crashing down. It’s disgusting. But history repeats itself, because humans are the common factor and humans, broadly, suck.
I’m feeling a bit cynical about this as well, despite their great reputation. Free never really means free in 2024. There’s always a catch…
I understand your perspective, but you were a victim of a fucked up system and continue to be. I agree that giving up tipping would require us to also support the workers getting a fair wage. But the whole rest of the world has proven your “shitty service” theory entirely wrong - they are able to pay food service workers properly AND give great service, and I suspect the whole world would chime in with a wealth of experience. And not paying slave labor wages doesn’t drive the cost of goods up as much as the capitalists would lead you to believe. Again, proven by the entirety of Europe.
Maybe for the rest of us, but his sycophant making this plea to the board thinks he’s invaluable and they must keep him around. That’s an awful lot of money to make working a part time job.
Thanks for the context - that’s fascinating.
This is why we’ve never seen or heard aliens out in the universe. Every civilization burns itself out faster than they can solve long distance space travel. Maybe the Great Filter is just the inherent nature of sentient beings. It would make me feel better to know that every other civilization to ever exist in the universe also destroyed itself in this manner, but maybe we are a special level of stupid.
I think you have ADHD, my dude. Welcome to the club.
Oh very cool - that’s a very good use case that I hadn’t considered!
Every non-PC, non-web browser on your network also reaps the benefit.
Of all the names on the list, Leazel is absolutely killing me. Everytime I think it I’m laughing again. A little disappointed but you’re probably right - it’s meant to be Lae’zel.
I just loaded up Android Studio, which has it’s own emulation layer. I’ve tried Bluestacks in the past and had trouble with it - figured that Google’s own environment would be the best option.
I only came along after Google podcasts announced that it was sunsetting, so I don’t know what the lifetime membership entailed. But I have no need for any of the paid features they offer, so I’m happy to remain a free member. I don’t really understand why I would need cloud storage… from my podcast app… and on pc, I just run the Pocket Cast app in an Android emulator since for some reason you can’t use a web browser without a subscription. Completely mystifying decision, but I’m not paying $4 a month for it.
Well to work with heavy machinery, you have to be 18. You’ve clearly never met a 14 year old, but 4 years and puberty at that age make a BIG difference. These children were very obviously, well, children.
That’s a clever option too! I do like with mine that you can still choose to pull the door fully closed without any issue, but otherwise it’s locked in a fixed position so even if the cats get the zoomies the door doesn’t fly open as they dive through.
I got one of these for the bedroom because I was sick of using a stuffed animal to prop the door open for the cats.
Bioware didn’t make Starfield - that was Bethesda. Maybe you were thinking of Anthem? And fair point there.
“I know I will respect the limits of the presidential powers I’ve had for three-and-a-half years, but any president – including Donald Trump – will now be free to ignore the law,” Biden said.
