Aww there’s even the tiny Deku Sprout in the OoT version ♥ And Deku Babas! I honestly missed those guys in BotW and TotK. They would have been a perfect addition to the Faron Woods.
Fun Fact: Someone on tumblr translated the little sign and apparently it means “You have a talent that not everyone has”
Still doesn’t work with the new url. That’s how it was directly uploaded to Lemmy.World, but I guess I’d better link a different image hosting site in the future. But still thanks for the help ;)
That’s an interesting zero-effort way to farm clicks… I guess coming up with some actual clickbait to boost engagement was too much work?
Eat them dry while maintaining eye contact to assert dominance.
Do they at least keep the monstie element / color change this time? TBH I was severely disappointed in MonHun Stories when I learned that they removed the only gameplay feature that kept gameplay interesting after the main story.
Hyrule, preferably the version from Breath of the Wild. I mean, yes there is the whole Ganon thing and one shouldn’t go too close to the castle, but the rest of the kingdom is pretty chill, and apparently you can make an easy living by just lazy foraging in the countryside, or by selling a handful of acorns and bugs at random stables, or by growing a grand total of eight pumpkins.
I’ll take a life as a homeless but well-fed drifter on horseback anytime over … this. gestures vaguely at the current state of the world
I just absolutely hate being a man in a “what role men have in society”-way.
I know exactly what you mean. A lot of random nonsense is seen as “unmanly” for no particular reason. I’ve seen grown ass men throw temper tantrums about doughnuts with pink glaze, because it is apparently uNmAnLy to even touch one, as if you would get a visit from the man police and they revoke your man card for even contemplating touching something in a “girly” color. It’s just complete and utter nonsense.
It is a lot healthier to not give a flying fuck about gender roles - but also harder, depending on the society you live in. I have the luxury of being a big, bearded dude so not many people dare to openly mock me when I do “unmanly” stuff - I let my niece paint my nails whenever she wants. I cry when movies get emotional. The last dog I owned was a mini pinscher, and I still miss her. I don’t like beer, cars, football/soccer/whatever. I bake and cook and I can get real passionate about it. I still own my first ever plushie.
…but I also have a bunch of friends who have been relentlessly bullied for similar stuff, gaslighted into believing that they deserved it for not being manly enough. And it breaks my heart every time I hear yet another story of someone killing their own passion, numbing themselves down to the point that they become unable to enjoy what they formerly loved, just to “fit in” a society that doesn’t accept deviation from the perceived norm.
Fuck gender roles in general. All they do is make people miserable for not fitting in.
EDIT: The above statement is not meant to bash trans folk by the way. What I dislike are the expectations tied to certain societal “roles” and the almost automatic ostracisation by “the society” if someone isn’t fulfilling enough of those expectations. Let people be who they want to be.
Now imagine if that was a Lego factory … you’d NEED safety shoes with steel soles for that.
Abso-friggen-lutely. But don’t forget that blahajs need a special diet so if you want to share a cup with them, you need something like this: (100% vegan and alcohol-free as well. AND zero calories!)
Cute dog/cat videos on the internet and a lemonade?

Plushies count too.
It’s okay to use any other beverage as a substitute … and any other pet for company. It’s the spirit of the holiday that counts ♪
My personal pet peeve is pre-installed, un-removable software and apps. My current mobile phone for example has apps that link to twitter, facebook, amazon etc. none of which I will ever use, but you can somehow not delete them. Why do I need to have that virtual junk in my phone?
f I created a community, would I become it’s (lone) moderator automatically?
Yes. But you can also immediatly appoint new mods and/or un-mod yourself if there are other mods present, so it is easy to give a community away when there are other interested users. It’s not a permanent thing.
What consequences, requirements and things would I need to keep in mind as a moderator?
Your community needs to be compatible wih the Fediverse Code of Conduct … but that boils down to “don’t be a dick and don’t post illegal stuff” which is pretty much just common sense. It’s not exactly hard to follow those rules ;)
Apart from that, you can set whatever rules you want. But keep in mind that the Fediverse is still a lot smaller than reddit, so if you are TOO niche / narrow / strict with the rules, you’ll have a hard time finding people who want to engage with your community. General, broad-themed communities with easy-to-follow rules have a bigger chance to thrive.
… and a personal little tip: don’t slam down the ban hammer at every opportunity. As a mod you are able to ban, silence, remove or otherwise “punish” people for bad behaviour, but that doesn’t mean that you have to do that. It’s a lot better to give users the benefit of the doubt, explain instead of punish (as they might not be aware that they did something bad in the first place), and give them a reasonable chance to fix their mistakes on their own before taking action. Post removal, bans and the like should be reserved solely for when the user in question is unwilling to cooperate OR did something obviously super shitty (like threatening other users, using slurs, posting illegal stuff etc.)
Is it advisable to copy-paste content from Reddit to kickstart new communities (given that the link source to the original content was added as well when making new posts)?
Well … as a last resort, yes. Original content or stuff from non-reddit sources is always preferable as it gives users of the Fediverse an incentive to visit communities here instead of going to reddit, but copypasted content is still better than no content at all, so if you can’t find interesting / worthwile stuff elsewhere, then copypasting from reddit is okay-ish too.
OC is still way better tho.
“Goodbye” exists because of 15th century chatspeak. It’s a highly abbreviated version of “God be with ye”

Definitely a Lurelinian. maybe with the Champion ability to create currents at will - similar to Revali’s ability, just horizontal instead of vertical. As for the Champion weapon, I’m not sure. My first instict was a spear or harpoon, but Mipha already has that. Out of the availiable weapon “types” we already have everything (Urbosa = 1H and shield, Daruk = 2H, Revali = bow, Mipha = spear) so there seems to be nothing left at first glance … not without inventing a new weapon type at least.
However … I think something like the Sea-Breeze Boomerang (which can only be obtained from amiibo) would have been cool. Or maybe Urbosa originally had just the Scimitar of the Seven without the Daybreaker, and the shield was going to be the Lurelinian Champion’s unique “weapon”. Maybe even with the ability to surf on water in the same manner Sand Seals drag Link across sand. That way each Champion would also have had ONE unique piece of equipment, instead of Urbosa randomly having two.
During development, they also had ideas for whips and grappling hooks, but neither one really fits the sea-themed setting IMHO. A Kokiri & Sheikah Champion were also considered once but got scrapped, so I wouldn’t be surprised if a possible Lurelinian Champion simply got the same treatment.
Oh…yeah, that does look a lot closer to it. Thanks for pointing it out ^^ I’m going to edit the post.
