Yeah, upon reading the post I immediately thought of an article from a long time ago whether some anime was feminist or antifeminist. It was just an average anime that didn’t even engage with the topic.
The conversation around a piece of art becomes infinitely worse once values are ascribed to it based on a (re)viewers personal ideologies and agenda.
I’m all for anticapitalist sentiment and feminism, but not every topic needs to be evaluated under them.

Well, I have a perverse fascination with conspiracy theories… And no, I don’t believe in them. I just like looking up their underlying claims in an effort to understand what causes people to subscribe to them.
I agree, but this scenario is purely hypothetical and so far not proven to exist. The Caps Lock was invented for a reason.
Once upon a time (either 2008 or 2013) I had to take a few trains through England as a foreigner. I bought my ticket and got on. At this one station (Kings Cross? Can’t remember…) I had to change trains and I figured I’d take the opportunity to pop upstairs for a smoke break.
Upon trying to reenter I realized my ticket wasn’t valid for entry anymore, as it would’ve been in the system I was used to back home, so I contacted one of the staff and asked for advice.
The staff member was a tall punk-looking guy with a Mohawk, and he explained the problem for me. He somehow managed to combine the looks of a hardcore punker with that of a very british rail official. Afterwards he helped me get back in: He had a ticket on him, and he tore it and handed me the magnetic half so I could reenter. I thanked him and went on my way.
Upon scanning the ticket I noticed it had an anarchist-symbol hastily written on it with a marker. Combined with the aesthetics of the guy who helped me I couldn’t help but conclude that he’s fighting the system from within.
Our royal family is mostly into sailing, I choose t9 believe that’s why we don’t have the same issue.
As a noggie, this resonates with me. My ideology is in line with nobody being more important from the Birthe lottery than anyone else. But my pragmatic side says that there are no pressing concerns that justify such a drastic change as abolishing the royal family.
They don’t cost that much, our regent is alright, and his heir apparent is pretty alright too. Might as well keep them around as a unifying symbol and as primary diplomats.
Plus, I have to admit that I like the concept of a lhaving an apolitical person with veto powers, in case some shithead starts something silly. I just hope said veto powers are used if needed.
