that’s the thing though, it strips you of the options the four essential freedoms provide.
and imo it’s not rly an argument. Libre software is free as in freedom and not necessarily free as in beer. You could license it under the (A)GPL, charge for downloads in the Play store or for compiled binaries on ur website and ask for donations on F-Droid.
You could even do a freemium version where some features are locked in the binaries you distribute and need a license from ur website or smth (for those who don’t want to use Google Play). (iirc SD Maid 2/SE does this)
unfortunately Futo seems to only be source-available and not libre software :/
though I can +1 the Heliboard recommendation! idk when they added it but it finally has a multilingual keyboard function :)

I used to use Simple Gallery and later Fossify Gallery. Now that I have a device new enough for Accrescent to work on it I discovered Aves Gallery Libre.
It’s much nicer and polished in many ways but I do miss some features sometimes
Maybe CalyxOS would be a better fit then?
I’m so glad the project isn’t stale, thank you devs! I have been using Voyager the last few months but nothing is quite on the leven of Eternity
seems like a good middle ground tbh. No cryptocurrency will ever reach the adoption of fiat. This could make online transactions that would otherwise be made over your creditcard, bank or insert fintech like Paypal quite a bit better
And I’d rather have this than a “digital Euro” or “digital Yuan”
Librewolf is also available as a Flatpak
before I set up and try out 5 different apps, I thought that I’d get some opinions first
It has no large community nor an organization behind it.
Leading to a lot of trouble for me personally, it’s the 2nd month now (after multiple updates) that my Gnome wayland desktop hasn’t been working properly at all (like xwayland programmes displaying as a blank transparency, me not being able to start certain ones) and switvhing to X11 works but it’s buddgy af and sometimes freezes for a few second
I suspect that it has been a problem with the nvidia driver after having updated it and I have never had those problems before
Don’t get me wrong Glorious Eggroll is doing good work but qa (due to size) leaves smth do be desired
I regret ever having switched to the amateur distro that is Nobara bc I was too lazy to set up Feodra a 2nd time after the Grub fiasco Arch (and thus my daily driver back then EndeavourOS) had lol
Will switch the second OpenSuSu Slowroll becomes stable
iirc with OpenSuse or Fedora, Secureboot works quite easily too
Google is a tech giant, which abuses peoples privacy with every click
Their phones enable users to (at least partially) escape that bs
that’s what I found to be ironic
this is an article from (imo) one of the best privacy/security tech-blogs out there
it’s in German, but you can probably run it through Firefox local translate

I literally mentioned Calyx and Divest OS as alternatives which support non-google devices
also how is buying a used Pixel and degoogling it to the max with GrapheneOS (with reasonable compromises like optional sandboxed GMS) helping Google?
Didn’t know that cutting their mal-/spyware out, and trying to avoid them and their services wherever possible actually helped them, silly me 🤷♀️
(I assume this to be the standard way for most ppl and plan on doing that as well once my current Huawei phone breaks)
please learn to read before insulting other ppl with your less-than-a-day-old account lol
From their FAQ it’s great and covers a lot of questions better than I ever could):
What is AdNauseam’s performance like? Will it speed up or slow down my browsing? AdNauseam is significantly faster (and safer) than using either of the two most popular blockers, Adblock or Adblock Plus, and nearly twice as fast as using no blocker at all. Metrics with more browsers and adblockers on the way…
Is there any reason to use this over Librewolf?
