I am a South Carolinian. This vile person in no way represents the will of most South Carolinians. I am constantly embarrassed by our politicians. If people of good will in thus state woke up and just went to the polls, we could end the tenure of this evil fool and so many others, but it never happens. I am so very tired of this perpetuation of evil, and I’m so heart sick that so much of it comes from the people I grew up with.
When the Bond-esque theme music kicked in on MGS3, after gameplay that amounted to like an hour-long cold open…wow. I’ve only played the game once all the way through, and that has stuck with me all this time.

It’s funny what the human brain does to resolve errors into the meaning we expect. It’s like having a good onboard AI. It gets things right a lot, but it has its issues.
Actually, it kinda depends on how you view the captains. I think Kirk is pretty awesome. I’d probably rate Sisko and Picard higher. So I think the cake is pretty good, but not like professional grade.
Ah, trying to bring back old nerdus obnoxious, eh?
Damn it, the neck beard in me wants to correct the cake, but the adult in me realizes it’s a joke. I really hate the way I think, sometimes.
Well done! I’d rate it a Kirk on the Captains’ Scale.
Wait, wait, wait…if this is going to be a Dukes of Hazard thing, Cooter was an ally to the erstwhile heroes (confederate naval jack notwithstanding). That would make Putin Boss Hogg and Trump the inept Rosco P. Coltrane, so Vance would be the deputy, Enos (rhymes with penis).
AP - Today, the office of United States Vice President JD “Cooter” Vance announced plans for him to attend the annual Future White Supremacists of America summer picnic and ice cream social in Laurens, SC…
Since he’s a hillbilly, can we call Vance “Cooter”?
Slavery with extra steps…
As an American, I’d prefer you guys not prop up the Trump regime. I was hoping Europe and the rest of the world could find your own way and let us suffer the consequences of our stupidity so that maybe we might learn something.
One of the best things about Enterprise was getting screen time for other important races in the Federation. Lower Decks was pretty awesome in this vein, too.
It’s a bit like that in the States, with a lot of the infrastructure appearing to be concentrated in the Northeast.
With delays, my actual time was around 11 hours. The last leg, from Washington, DC to Baltimore was actually on high speed commuter rail, and that was phenomenal. The cars were newer and the speed was far greater. I imagine if most traffic in the northeast US is like that, it’s actually pretty good.
Thanks for the European info. It’s interesting to know we have similar challenges. I would think, though, that high speed rail would be easier to implement in Europe since you don’t seem to have as many people stuck on automobile culture as we do in North America. However, I could see politics being an issue, wherever you go for various reasons.
Doesn’t Europe have an extensive passenger train network?
Also, I recently rode on Amtrak for a long trip from Columbia, SC to Baltimore, MD. This was my first time on any kind of train other than a subway or metro line. It had its drawbacks (incredibly long travel time and delays), but I always felt safe, and I had a lot more room than I would have had on any flight. The major drawbacks where the seats were somewhat uncomfortable and things like that are largely due to the fact that the cars were pretty old, and not inherent to train travel if it was properly maintained. The cost was much less, and the free parking was such a great bonus.
That’s the first place my mind went, as well.
What’s hilarious is that in another episode, Satan asked God to accept Saddam Hussein into heaven so he could know true eternal torment living with the Mormons.
Every jam or jelly I’ve tried works. Strawberry and blackberry are my favorites.
I canned some peach jam recently, and it was pretty good, too.
