  • It really depends. If the actual left can keep the pressure on and keep Palestinian genocide loud enough that the media HAS to cover it, they’ll handwringingly side with Trump, otherwise they’ll try to ignore it as much as possible and use the same tactics they use when covering police murdering minorities when they absolutely MUST cover it.

They’re going to immediately pretend that they have always felt this way. Don’t you know that we’ve always been at war with Eurasia?

Edit: I lost the plot in the response, I still agree with my original comment but I’m leaving this one for posterity lol. My original point is that the liberals will keep spouting pro Israeli propaganda and blame pro Palestinian activists for the loss, completely ignoring that the Dems continue to move right over and over leaving the progressive portion of their base behind in pursuit of stealing Republican votes.

  • I’m glad this article exists. The reactionary coworker that keeps talking about this strike says they absolutely won’t get the pension back and blames the workers for allowing it to be taken away to begin with. Now the next time he spouts that BS I can tell him it was done via cheap tactics and not actually the workers agreeing properly. (not that it’ll fix his politics, but maybe it’ll get him to shut up and move onto something else)

  • I am smiling, crying, and absolutely seething in anger, from a few short paragraphs, all at once. My children are all teens and adults now and have never faced down the realities of a missed meal, let alone extreme hunger and malnourishment. I cannot imagine the pain the author endures watching his children try to cope with their reality, let alone the pain he must have endured not having the ability to change their reality for so long. I hope that one day, hopefully much sooner than later, Palestine will be free and his kids can eat balanced and filling meals every day, sleep calmly without the looming threat of violence, and just be themselves. If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go finish crying and dream about [redacted].

  • Grid level solar, off shore wind, and on shore wind are cheaper than gas, coal, and nuclear. Grid level battery storage is starting to become feasible on a mass scale. Additionally, battery tech is becoming safer and less polluting over time as newer tech that is safe and relies less on precious metals become commercialized.

More so than the energy generation, mining of nuclear materials can create serious health effects similar to the ones downwinders in Utah and Nevada suffered from atomic testing. (see Black Hills Uranium mining tailings) In addition to nuclear waste from nuclear power, coal fired plants also tend to emit nuclear particles as well which can contaminate ground and water nearby.

We absolutely have the technological ability to move on from all of this, we just have a government that isn’t interested in doing anything because investing in infrastructure doesn’t bring in campaign donations the same way extending the lifespan of existing nuclear and coal powered plants do.
